What is the difference between climate and weather?

The six main factors that affect climate are:

• Latitude
• Ocean Currents
• Winds and Air Masses
• Elevation (Altitude)
• Relief
• Near Water

To help remember, think of the acronym “Lower”, but don’t for get the extra “n”. I don’t really know what to do with that!

Questions:

• Describe how each of these factors affects climate.
• Explain how these different factors affect the climate of the location where you live.
• What two of these factors do you think is most important in influencing the climate where you live? Explain.
